Action on Climate Change

I was fortunate to be invited to the St. Stephen's Infant School as they were presented by the Kent County Council Chairman, Peter Lake with the Green Eco-Schools Flag as part of the Kent Schools Action on Climate Change.
The school is one of only 36 schools in the county to receive the flag for the school's commitment to improving the environment. And it seems a good way of educating pupils about waste, energy and fairtrade products. It was a great opportunity to meet after the presentation with staff and children to find out what they have been doing at the school to earn the flag.
The school also has a 'green tree club' which meets to discuss ecological issues and environmentally friendly products for cleaning and painting. The school's ecology co-ordinator and teacher said "we are all very proud of our children at St. Stephen's Infants who have so enthusiastically taken on the challenge of protecting the environment for the future".
