Kent Community Alcohol Partnership

I was very pleased yesterday to attend the launch of the Kent Community Alcohol Partnership, looking at changing attitudes to drinking, held at the Chill Nightclub in Canterbury.

The event highlighted the potential dangers when people consume too much alcohol. Taking part in a driving simulation when wearing goggles that acted as if driving under excess alcohol was truly frightening. This demonstrated very clearly the impact of driving under the influence of drink.

It was good that Kent Trading Standards were also present and involved in the event and I had the chance to discuss with them the work they will be doing in addressing traders who sell alcohol to people who are under age.
